Electrochemical sensors have a wide range of applications in the field of security, environmental diagnostics, process control, the food industry, and medicine.

Beside highly-sensitive electrochemical sensors we offer real-time analysis of sulphur-containing substances and online analysis of volatile substances in liquids.

Fields of application

Beside applications in research and industry, electrochemical sensors are also used for environmental analysis. Sensors and analytics are generally required whenever gases, water or soil are investigated.

Electrochemical sensors are being developed at the ICT for the detection of chemical substances in the ppm range and lower. The advantage of electrochemical sensors is their high sensitivity, ease of use and the short analysis time compared to other methods.

The calibration of gases is relevant for sensor manufactures. It is characterised by significant varieties and is used by defence agencies, the armed forces, and in the security field.

Pattern recognition is primarily applied in the chemical food and medical industries. A variety of substances can be identified at very low concentrations.

A continuous monitoring of liquids is often required. For this purpose we offer a membrane flow system coupled with a mass spectrometer, which allows rapid determination of several components in the mixture.

A further area of application is sulphur analysis in complex sample matrixes, based on gas chromatography. Beside high detection sensitivity we can offer the fractionation of individual sulphur components and the identification of other components which do not contain sulphur.
